On the online community today, the word Simp is being used as an acronym for a rather heavy phrase called Sucker Idolizing Mediocre P**** - roughly translated as "girl-lover". 

The word Simp is used to criticize or tease in situations where young men stand out to protect women excessively, even blindly regardless of right or wrong or being ignored by that person.

Previously, the online community used to use the word "White Knight" to refer to young people who were overly protective of women. But when the word Simp appeared, it took the place of this phrase.

2. Origin of Simp

To this day, the creator of the word Simp remains a mystery. According to some theories, the word Simp stands for Simpleton which has been in use since the early 2000s.

Historically, the word Simpleton first appeared in the dictionary in 1946. But then it was forgotten and it was not until the 90s that the word was noticed when the 

Three 6 Mafia group used the word Simp to disparage people. Men pursue women for the sole purpose of having sex.

Until now, Simp was used to refer to someone who is blindly pursuing someone despite that person treating them badly, ignoring their feelings.
